Introduction to VoLTE

VoLTE is short for Voice over LTE, a technology that utilises LTE mobile date network to transmit voice calls. It requires both network and handset support to bring you a faster and clearer call experience.

  • VoLTE Roaming Service ("the Service") is only available to Customers of SmarTone Mobile Communications Ltd ("the Company") with subscription to the Company's 4G or above monthly mobile service plan and designated handset.
  • Roaming voice charges applies to the Service but the data usage caused from the Service will neither be charged nor counted as data usage. For detail of Roaming Voice, please visit https://www.smartone.com/en/mobile_and_price_plans/roaming/coveragencharges/charges.jsp.
  • Roaming voice charges rates are stated in H.K. dollars. Roaming voice charges are calculated in 1-minute interval and rounded up to the nearest 1-minute.
  • The use of the Service requires the correct dialing method. If the customer cannot make voice calls (including but not limited to emergency calls) due to inappropriate dialing method, and there is any direct or indirect loss caused by this, the company shall not undertake any responsibility.
  • The Service does not support the "1 Card 2 Numbers" service. Customers of "1 Card 2 Numbers" service are unable to receive calls or text messages through their mainland numbers if they are in an area without 2G/ 3G network coverage.
  • The Company reserves the right to revise the terms and conditions of the Service without prior notice to the Customer. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Company shall be final.
